Ex-militant opens fire at CRPF camp in Tral village, arrested: Police

An official said that Mohammad Maqbool Ganaie, son of Ghulam Mohammad Ganaie of Lam Tral fired at the 180 Bn CRPF camp at Nawdal today evening before attempting to lob a grenade.

A former militant was arrested after he fired at the CRPF camp in Nawdal village of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday, police said.
An official said that Mohammad Maqbool Ganaie, son of Ghulam Mohammad Ganaie of Lam Tral fired at the 180 Bn CRPF camp at Nawdal today evening before attempting to lob a grenade.
He said that a pistol and a grenade was also recovered from him.
No casualties were reported in the firing, added the official.
